Several Athletes competed at the State Championship Meet at Vanderbilt University on Sunday February 25th.
Senior Kristen Blevins led three other West Girls to a Team Finish of Fourth Place overall! Kristen ran a blazing time of 7.73 to finish 3rd in the 60-meter dash, and she was also 7th in the 200-meter dash. Blevins and teammates Caroline Lewis, Hannah Burkhart, and Janie Holecek placed first in the 4×400 relay, and in doing so broke the State Meet Record!
Individual Results for the four West Girls were:
  • Kristen Blevins –  60m – 3rd place, 200m – 7th place
  • Hannah Burkhart – 800m – 4th place, 400m – 8th place
  • Caroline Lewis – Long Jump – 6th place, 60m Hurdles – 6th place
  • Janie Holecek – 400m – 7th place

The boys team finished tied for 13th place overall. The 4×400 relay team of Sebastian LaTorre, DeEric King, Kaleb Kirkland, and Khari Brazelton finished in third place. Just like the girls team, every competitor representing West Boys team also had at least one top 7 finish in the meet.

  • Devyn Johnson- 60m – 7th place
