“I’m really excited about the opportunity here at West,” Hollifield said. ” I know these girls deep down inside want to be a winner, and guess what? That’s what I want for them too.”

‘We are going to be ready to play when we step on that floor every night.’

Hollifield comes to West understanding the challenge that she will have in attempting to rebuild the Lady Rebels program.

“For a lot of these girls, it will be their third coach in four years, and I am sure that they are over it,” Hollifield said. “I’m committed to them and I will have their back.”

Hollifield is a Knoxville native and played in high school at Powell. She played collegiately at the University of Alabama and Western Carolina University.

She understands what it takes to play basketball at the highest level and is committed to building a program that West and the players can be proud of.

“We are going to be ready to play when we step on that floor every night,” Hollifield said. “We only get ready to play in practice. That’s my favorite part of being a coach, because that’s where you earn the wins. We are going to work hard.”
